Accessibility

Off Your Plate Consulting wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people with disabilities. If something on this site is hard for you to use, I want to know so I can fix it.
What we're aiming for
I'm working toward meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. That's the widely used standard for making websites usable for people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification, or other assistive tools.
What we've done so far
- Pages use clear headings and landmarks so screen readers can jump around.
- There's a "Skip to main content" link at the top of each page.
- Everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Text and buttons use colors with enough contrast against their backgrounds.
- Images that carry meaning have text descriptions.
- The background video on the home page can be paused, and it stays off if your device is set to reduce motion.
- The chat assistant has labeled controls and can be closed with the Escape key.
Known limits
I'm not perfect at this yet, and I'd rather be upfront about it. A few parts of this site come from outside tools that I don't fully control: the scheduling pop-up from Calendly, and the Bottleneck Quiz, which is hosted separately. If either one gives you trouble, email me and I'll book your call or send your results by hand.
Tell me if something's not working
If you can't use part of this site, or you need information in a different format, reach out. Tell me what page you were on and what happened, and I'll work on a fix and get you what you need in the meantime.
